Well, yeah? That's the common age to sign up for training. Is it really that odd?

Well... kind of. There are people outside the walls that fight against us.

Most Militaries or Defence Forces only start training at 18 years old. 12 years old is still considered a child in our time.

You should be going to school and playing with your friends, not training to kill giant monsters. Even in terms of biology, people don't really reach 'adult hood' until they're 25. You're basically a child soldier.

[It takes a while for Jean to say anything. A long while, actually. He had never actually thought about the age aspect. Everyone just went with it and to be honest he was just at the age where he wanted to leave home.

Now that he's made aware of it, yeah, it kind of sucks. Not that there's anything he can do about it at this point.]

Whoever does fight Titans, tend not to survive for long. Jean was one of the 'lucky' ones. ]

How do you fight these things?

[ What sort of military could fight these giants? ]

We have equipment that lets us basically fly up to their level. With wires and gas tanks. It takes a long time to train with them until you're good to go.

The only way to kill a titan is to slash its nape, otherwise they're regenerate. So we train to be able to do that, no matter what military section you choose.

It's usually a group effort to kill one anyway. I've only killed one by myself, even if I was 6th in my class.

That's a pretty accurate summary.

It does look cool, but that's about the only perk. It's really heavy on your body and really dangerous. If a titan grabs your wire, you're as good as dead.

[Jean unfortunately has a thing called bluntness so he doesn't really hold back with his words. Maybe he should have. Oh well.]
