What the hell is this "christmas" thing even about?

[It takes a while for Jean to say anything. A long while, actually. He had never actually thought about the age aspect. Everyone just went with it and to be honest he was just at the age where he wanted to leave home.

Now that he's made aware of it, yeah, it kind of sucks. Not that there's anything he can do about it at this point.]

I'm basically a child veteran right now, actually.

[Okay, maybe that isn't the best thing to joke about.]

I get that it's probably a bit upsetting to hear about, considering your standards, but that's just how our world works.

[ The unspoken confession in that joke lingers for a long while, as Dojima stares at the words.

Whoever does fight Titans, tend not to survive for long. Jean was one of the 'lucky' ones. ]

How do you fight these things?

[ What sort of military could fight these giants? ]

We have equipment that lets us basically fly up to their level. With wires and gas tanks. It takes a long time to train with them until you're good to go.

The only way to kill a titan is to slash its nape, otherwise they're regenerate. So we train to be able to do that, no matter what military section you choose.

It's usually a group effort to kill one anyway. I've only killed one by myself, even if I was 6th in my class.

like how you fight would almost be cool if it wasn't so goddamn terrifying.

No wonder you don't really do festival stuff... you probably don't have time for it, huh?

That's a pretty accurate summary.

It does look cool, but that's about the only perk. It's really heavy on your body and really dangerous. If a titan grabs your wire, you're as good as dead.

[Jean unfortunately has a thing called bluntness so he doesn't really hold back with his words. Maybe he should have. Oh well.]

Well you're basically going around with a jet pack, so... yeah, that's super dangerous.
