This is Ren Amamiya and I'm writing out a warning for everyone.

It seems for this story, those who have to play the role of Hyde are either forced to act evil against their will, or in my case, get possessed by my shadow. I didn't get any warning and didn't realize what happened until the scene was over and I got control of my body back.

I don't know if there's anything that can be done to prepare for it, but it seemed better to warn all of you in advance for the other acts coming ahead.

It wasn’t my imagination. I knew something was wrong but I didn’t know why.

Here, I thought they were being a good actor.

In any other circumstances, it would be just good acting, but it seems either the Storyteller or whatever magic in this story is causing this to happen.

At least it seems temporary and only lasts a scene.

At least it's just a scene.

The last thing I want is to stand back and do nothing while others were being hurt.

Neither do I.

[Especially since Ren is the type to run in to save others. It's what got him in trouble with the law in the first place.]

You think this might happen again? I don't know how Xion-san is feeling but the thought of another being possess you is scary.

And I don't want to fight something like that again.

Considering we have more acts to go and Hyde is a main character, I would assume so.

[He won't ask what he means about that. That's maybe something for in person and that's if Ken were to trust him enough to explain. And even then, he won't push it.]

[spearlance]

That's scary. I don't know how I would react if I was possessed by my shadow.

It was already difficult enough to fight Arisato-san's shadow. I don't need to deal with another one.

[Because he doesn't want to deal with an hour long fight again, thank you!]

[Okay that gets Ren to pause.]

His shadow? Minato said he never had to face his or anyone else's shadow until he ended up here, and it was during the story of Alice in Wonderland and A Midsummer Night's Dream.

[Either this means Minato lied to him, or Ken and Minato aren't quite from the same world.]

Wait, he had to fight his shadow here too?

[Now that he wasn't expecting! To think shadows could take form here in this world too was already hard enough for him to understand. Wasn't the dark hour gone? They weren't suppose to be fighting them anymore!

But I had to. All of us didn't have a choice.

Yeah it was part of the story. It might be better for Minato himself to tell you that story than me.

[Ren's very confused now. Why did Minato lie? Unless it's an alternate universe thing. Either way, he's not sure how to feel about that.]

I wonder why he lied.

He didn't, he probably didn't know.

[A pause]

How much has he told you?

[Urg, that is not helping with Ren's confusion. He is so lost.]

Some stuff. The Dark Hour, Apathy Syndrome, some director guy that was a traitor, some cop on Kirijo Group's payroll that helped you guys with weapons, and Nyx.

[So he knows Minato's dead back home.]

Ken-kun is right, Ren, I don't know what he's talking about in terms of my team fighting my shadow. As I said, fighting our own shadows wasn't a thing for us.

Mina-chan and I had to face our shadows, or ghosts, we're not entirely sure who or what they were because one tried to lead us astray and the other led us to the correct path. No fight was really involved, unless you count throwing my heels at one of them.

However, I won't discount what Ken-kun is saying either. Anything could have happened after I passed. Yu told me as much since he knows about my team already.

[Now he feels bad for doubting Minato. Also the reminder of Minato being dead back home still stings even though he knows Minato's happy here.]

It's okay. Being from different points in time means it was likely bound to come up at one point or another.

True. I'm lucky Akechi and I are from the same time point, but who knows if anyone from my team shows up here from that same point too or not.

[Could be worse. They could know him by a different name.]

Don't worry about it. We can't really expect to cover everything upon arriving here. It's all confusing enough as it is.

No, I didn't. But you don't need to tell me. It was a... weird time for me, I suppose you could say.

I see. Then I come from after that and everything my teammates had to go through to fight his shadow.

I have to wonder just how Minato's shadow appeared after his death. Did it separate from him when he died when he was becoming the seal?

[He can't imagine a person's shadow would survive or just turn into a normal shadow after their other self died. If only Morgana were here to explain things...]

More like we just wanted to see him. It was strong enough to create a shadow in itself.

At least, that's what Metis-san told us?
