Hyde PSA | Slightly backdated to after Ren's thread with Minato)

This is Ren Amamiya and I'm writing out a warning for everyone.

It seems for this story, those who have to play the role of Hyde are either forced to act evil against their will, or in my case, get possessed by my shadow. I didn't get any warning and didn't realize what happened until the scene was over and I got control of my body back.

I don't know if there's anything that can be done to prepare for it, but it seemed better to warn all of you in advance for the other acts coming ahead.

Oh? If you want to make it into a challenge, then I can certainly up the ante.

[And looks like it's thieving time.]

I'll get those glasses back. Just you wait.

Well then...this should be interesting.

[Since his mansion isn't here, he won't have that advantage. That said, he is going to find Akechi and get those glasses back by force.

...Somehow.]

The team may not be here, but I should be able to get those glasses back on my own.

Then wait for me 'cause I'm coming to get those glasses back.

[And that's all Ren will write. He starts looking for Akechi. He will get those glasses back or die trying.

Hopefully not literally.

It may take a while though since he has no idea where Akechi is.]

[It would possibly take some time, but maybe at one point he might spot Goro sipping a cup of coffee at one of this story's many little shops.

He hadn't even bothered to hide at all.]

[Ren spots him in the distance. Better to use stealth for this.

He carefully makes his way towards him without being spotted. He slowly walks behind Akechi, making sure he doesn't make any sounds.

Depending on whenever he's wearing the glasses or not, he may either try to slip the glasses off his face or try to pickpocket him. His essence giving him an increased ability to do that.]

[He never saw it coming but Akechi wasn't stupid either. The glasses were on his face, which made the prize even more tantalizing for his rival's actions.

That's when he spots the movement and pretends he's seen him the entire time.]

Ahh. Took you long enough.

[Action]

[Shit. He knew he should have changed out the outfit that was provided to him.]

Found you.

[He grabs the sides of the glasses.] You had your fun but I'll be taking these back.

[He then attempts to remove the glasses.]

But don't they fit me better?

[From under the table, he points a gun at him. Would he really shoot it? Hard to say.]

I don't know why you're attempting to steal them from me. I'll give them back to you...once you have a cup of coffee.

[Ren freezes once he glanced down to see the gun under the table, though hands still gripped on the sides. He did not consider that Akechi would have a gun on him. He really should know better.]

...If I have a cup of coffee with you, will you honor your word?

[Jokes on you Ren, if you can still be Robin Hood, he can still be the Shadow.]

I'm a man of my word .

[He says, perfectly mimicking Ren's voice, then laughs before pretending he didn't just laugh.]

I thought you'd want to talk instead of just taking them.

[Ren tries not to make a lineface at that. That laugh is seriously annoying. He does let go of the sides and walks over the other chair to sit down.]

I said I would get those glasses back by force and I wasn't lying. Just because my shadow let you take them doesn't mean I gave you them.

[The gun disappears to wherever it normally disappears to and he relaxes a little, at least doing a peace offering by folding the glasses in the middle of the table. They look like he's cleaned them to boot.]

One could consider that an aspect of yourself, isn't it? A shadow is simply another side to a person's personality. Much like, it's reflection, a persona is a facet of yourself.

[That's good. He would be very unhappy if something bad happened to them.]

I'm well aware. Those glasses have become a part of my identity too, not just something I needed to wear because of my criminal record.

[Also because of habit and because it lets him hide his emotions from others (except Minato apparently).]

I've been told that these stories are never 1:1 recreations of the original stories they are supposed to be, so at least there shouldn't be any lasting harm with any derailings we do.

[Why yes it's Ren's way of calling him out for causing such a derailment in the story.]

[He's quite a fool, Akechi has decided.]

Honestly, in my humble perspective, we made it much better.

[And that's his call out that part of him was involved in it, regardless.]

[Well he had the Fool Arcana for a reason.]

Maybe. Ever since our scene, I do think that Hyde might be Jekyll's shadow. Hyde is his darker side so it does make sense.

Would explain why that happened back there.

[It still bothers him that his shadow possessed him, but at least talking about it with others helped. Also Ren should get some coffee soon.]
