I find it's helpful about learning some of things that could happen around here.

[ Then he starts writing out a list of books that he's found about Christmas. ]

Let's see. There was Halloween, which we passed already. There's Easter, but I didn't see much of that in the time I've been here.

[ He lists a few more holidays he's read about, different celebrations from different countries and cultures. ]

Not all of them are necessarily observed, but these are just a few I've found.

No, not these holidays. Some of the ones we celebrate occur around the same time, such as the Winter Feast and Christmas, but they're celebrated for different reasons.

From what I understand, Christmas is generally regarded as a religious holiday, although not everyone celebrates it for that reason. The Winter Feast is a traditional festival for marking the coming of the winter cold.

But there are some similarities between the two. There are decorative lights, games, music, and a grand dinner in the evening. The Winter Feast doesn't have an exchange of presents that Christmas has, though.

That's fair enough. Though as I said, not everyone celebrates Christmas for the religious reason. Some just like the celebration.

But everyone is welcome at the Winter Feast too.
