Second Shield | The Case of the Dwarven Scammer

[If you noticed Dojima’s handwriting before, it could be a bit chicken scratch- not from a lack of penmanship, but simply because his work had him writing up a lot of reports, and you had to do it quickly. This time however, his handwriting is noticeably neater and careful, trying to make sure no one can misread the information.]
Notice to All Aspects.
Within the recent months, a scam artist has been making the rounds in the Index, going after both locals and Aspects alike.
Based on description, the culprit is likely a Dwarf, who’s hair varies in colour, possibly dying it or using magic to change it.
If you or anyone you know has been involved in some sort of scam, please let either me or Eustace know; we’re currently involved in the investigation. Information on what the scam entitled, the date it occurred, the scammer's appearance, and location would be a great benefit.
[The handwriting then switches to something a little cleaner and not necessarily elegant, but neat.]
There are suspicions that there may be multiple individuals, making it a crime ring. If you think you found one, don't do anything stupid. There haven't been reports of any violent exchanges, but we don't need this to become more complicated than necessary.
However, if you do manage to capture one, bring them to the nearest law enforcement.
Feel free to respond to us here, or come to us in person at the Index Guard house where we’re currently stationed.

Then I should warn you that my Essence is the Gray Wolf and I've inherited its taste for anything equine.

[And that's all he'll send. Oh he'll look into the location so he can write it off as a false lead if it's as he suspects. He also is only taking that doodle with a grain of salt.
But what he said is true, so. That's Kokichi's warning.]

It's a very good thing Kokichi hadn't actually taken that form yet.
He's just gonna stay human and try to hide himself in a crowd of villagers while Eustace does his thing. Nope, no donkeys here. Only a small crowd still gawking at the dwarf's wares...
Oh, right, the stuff about the dwarf wasn't made up. ]

He is a little surprised that it turns out this lead is true, so he'll momentarily disregard the source of it and hang in the back. Although he could arrest the dwarf right then and there, that would actually make things more complicated for trying to capture the ring as a whole. So he remains obscured by the crowd, noting everything about the dwarf, the wares sold, behavior—everything.
It doesn't take too long to reach the point where he can more casually observe and so he moves so as not to be too conspicuous. It's while he's moving that he...catches a certain scent. Immediately he can feel his body tensing and he grits his teeth in annoyance as he forces that urge down. He's at least gotten better at controlling it.
However, now that he's been alerted, he recalls that certain source and focuses on it. Hm...no, not a horse, but...
Donkey.
By now, Kokichi will have probably noticed Eustace's behavior...but then he continues moving, as if ignoring it, and then his presence disappears amidst the moving crowd.
Kokichi will have some time to relax or even try to follow him if he wants, but instead he'll hear a voice suddenly near him.]
