Alright, does anyone have any idea who's sending these rigged Christmas presents? I'm pretty sure what I got could have potentially killed me.

I'm fairly sure someone gave me some manner of bomb.

Is this the young woman who kept talking to me about indoor plumbing?

What?! Now that's just messed up, why would anyone do that? No one wants dead bodies lying around for Christmas!

And you got that right! Guess I shouldn't have said that to you, the storyteller sure know how to make a joke.

That's a good question, and I doubt the storyteller would want to kill anyone outside of a scene...

Anyhow, nice to meet you again Miss Pines. I hope you've been faring well enough, aside from the strange presents?

You sure about that? I don't know they're willing to send in bombs as a joke. This isn't some kind of video game where you can respawn out of nowhere!

[Yeah, about that Mabel...]

But I've been doing well! Just the usual what the heck is going on and oh my gosh, how do people not know about ice cream kind of thing!

You'll have to explain video games to me later, they sound interesting.

[ He may be from the 1800s, but technology fascinates him and he would like to learn more about this. ]

There are people here who've never heard of ice cream? That's a shame.

But that's a bit beside the point. I'm happy to hear you're staying safe out there.

Oh right, I forgotten you came from the ye olden days. Let's just say that it's a game where you play in front of an electronic called a television! As you look at the television, you can see where your eyes are so amazed you won't even realize it's burning your retinas!

[Just saying!]

And seriously. They don't know what they're missing out! Don't they know there's a thing where ice cream can be turned into small dots too?

I see... I suppose the television is incorporated into the game itself? Otherwise it would just be playing a normal game in front of an electronic device. And don't they have goggles or some sort of eye protection for using the television?

[ The gears in his head are turning... ]

The small dots variety is new to me, is that some sort of gourmet dessert?

I think so? I heard something about using glasses about playing video games before but I wouldn't be surprised if people made that in the future. It would be pretty cool to play a game with just your electronic glasses alone!

Nah, it's just a gimmick to sell more ice cream. It's pretty cool to eat small dots but it's kind of a tourist trap really.

Not what I had in mind, but that's also an interesting idea.

So there's no real difference, then. I'll keep that in mind in case someone tries to sell dots, I suppose.

Not gonna lie, I kind of wish you could come to my world so you can see what the future has for you! You really have no idea what you're missing out!

Outside of television and indoor plumbing? There's cellphones, showers, LED lightbulbs, night clubs, and junk food too! It's enough to make you question your sanity!

[ He thinks showers are sort of familiar, and he's familiar with a different sort of light bulb, but he can't really remember details too well. ]

I doubt it. With so many brilliant minds out there, I'd have no doubt there would be advancements such as these.

[ There's a slight pause before he continues writing. ]

Speaking of which, I do think we had such a genre as science fiction in my world. So I'm wondering if people in your world managed things like traveling to the moon and the like?

[meowbel]

Oh yeah, we definitely did! We even found out a way to travel to different dimensions and fight off demons that want to take over the world too!

How's that for blowing your mind?

[ ... Well now he's imagining someone in a dimension-hopping zeppelin punching Old Scratch in the face. ]

Whether it did or not, I'm glad that humanity keeps exploring new possibilities in the future.

[ It's a little silly, what she just told him, and for all he knows that could be her childish imagination speaking. Still, who was he to stifle someone's creativity? How does he know she isn't from a magical world of some sort, which was the case with the ducks or those small burrowing creatures?

So he'll play along. ]

[Just wait until he sees a bunch of Mabels from various dimensions attacking an evil Mabel]

But I'll say this. All of that weird stuff is probably best to stay in one place because all of that weird stuff happened in a town!

Don't know about you but there is only so much time and world hopping a girl can handle!

I'll say, but what do you mean by "weird stuff?"

Oh, you know. You’ll see the occasional gnome, three headed giant bears, an actual love god, a time traveler.

Are you sure we're from the same world? Or dimension?

How should I know? For all I know, time traveling and dimension hopping mean the same thing to me now.

We could have been in the same town for all I know!

There's no real way to find out, is there?

Not unless you talk to the Storyteller and have you come to my world and see.

But that's fourth wall breaking so we can't have that.

[ Excuse the delay between responses. All this stuff Mabel keeps telling him about might be breaking his brain a little. ]
