New Years is the big one; that's the really big family gathering, food, special movies, and going to the temple and shrines to get your fortune told for the rest of the year.
Coming of Age Day, Setsubun for the start of spring, Valentines Day, White Day, Cherry Blossom Viewings, Golden Week's got a bunch of holidays-- Tanabata for the Star Viewing, Obon for end of summer and honoring our ancestors, Halloween's becoming a thing too, and then Christmas at the end of the year...
So it's like, a yearly thing, you know? Tradition in all that.
