Yaldabaoth also wanted to control humans too, which makes sense since he was the god of control. He manipulated a lot of things to guide me and other humans into "ruin". Even tried to make a deal with me where he would give me and the other Phantom Thieves power while he controlled over everyone else in the real world.
I said no of course. People can change and they aren't just mindless sheep that would rather be controlled than think for themselves, or even care for others.
